Are you on AIP, KETO, or Paleo, or have allergies? Hopefully, my blog can help. In fact, I changed my diet to improve my health. If you are wondering whether it has or not? It totally has. Indeed, I have renewed energy and my health labs keep coming back as improved on all accounts. Not to mention, I actually can’t believe how quickly I improved. Believe it or not, I have been revamping my diet since Oct of 2017. What a difference!! This is just my own personal experience.

However, I have been writing recipes since the 1980s. At any rate, I am new to blogging and sharing my recipes. Nonetheless, I have been writing them down for my kids as I think family recipes are an amazing gift. I have always heard people say “I wish I had my mom’s recipe for … or I wish I had my grandmother’s recipe for…”. Therefore, why not start a journal or cookbook of family recipes for your family? In any event, I know that they will appreciate it.

Notes:

Consequently, it was my husband who first got me to write my recipes down. Prior to that, I would create a recipe, and 9 times out of 10 I would forget what I did. In short, My husband would not forget the memory or the taste of the food. He would say “Please write down your recipe.” All in all, he always asks me now “Did you write down the recipe for this?”

On the whole, I wanted to create a healthier maple sausage recipe that I could enjoy with my family. When I was a kid my family had a restaurant in Ririe, Idaho it as called the European Inn. We use to make our own sausage and put them in casings. My husband’s grandparents also used to make their own sausage. So with all that family history, I thought why not create a more healthy breakfast sausage? I hope you enjoy this as much as my family.

Frying Maple Turkey Breakfast Sausage

In summary, this sausage is quick and easy to make. Not to mention that it freezes very well. In fact, the sausages can be frozen either cooked or uncooked. If frozen cooked simply reheat the sausage. But if freezing uncooked defrost in the microwave and cook on the stove on medium heat. This sausage is perfect with Gluten-Free Dutch Pancakes or Japanese Pancakes.

Real Maple Syrup can be found in your local grocery stores or on Amazon.

Remove from heat and serve.

Freezes well. To freeze: place them on a pan with a little space between each one then place them in the freezer for 4- 5 hours. Remove from freezer. Place wax paper between each sausage and wrap it in a gallon-size sealable freezer bag. Not all bags are made for the freezer. Make sure your bag is a freezer bag.
