Parent of Four- 5 reasons I love being a Mom of 4 kids – The Mom Kind (1)

Having a large broad comes with its blessings as well as it’s challenges. I have always known I wanted to be a mom, just didn’t know how many! Unless God has a different plan, we feel our family is complete at four children. Our four children have taught me so much over the last ten years! Even though I may feel overwhelmed at times, I wouldn’t have it any other ways.

The one phrase I hear all the time is ” I don’t know how you do it!” To me, it seems like second nature. Outsiders looking in though, it seems like running a three-ring circus would be easier than raising four children. Well, the reality is, it would be! It’s my full-time job and I absolutely love it! I decided I would respond to that phrase in a fun blog post. So here it is!

Parent of Four:

5 reasons I love being a Mom of 4 kids

1. I am Never Bored!

Boredom is far from a fact of my life. I am constantly busy with a thousand things to do, at once! From the time I get up to the time I go to bed, I am constantly moving and completely something. As I am writing this post, I have had to get up several times to go wipe milk up. Our son is two and learning to eat cereal with milk. Every time he drops milk, he starts saying “towel, towel, towel.” It’s quiet okay though! I am very thankfully he likes things to be clean, especially since his sisters don’t have the same love!

2. I Stay In Shape!

Who need’s a gym membership when you are a parent of four kids! Since I am never bored, I also never seem to sit or sit for long. My favorite joy of blogging is getting to sit down for three minutes at a time! Since two of our four children are autistic, we are constantly involved with physical therapy. That equals mommy getting just as much exercise! Now if I could jump on the trampoline with them without needing a poise pad…lol! That’s another benefit of having four children, but we’ll save that for a different post!

3. I’ve Gotten Really Good atTrying to Organize!

Okay, so the key word here is “try.” However, I am so much more organized than I was prior to having children! I have a large planner to fill out weekly and my phone schedule is filled with reminders. Grocery shopping with them is like a military practice. Each child in their specific place, given specific jobs to do, and checking off my grocery list as I go so they match the coupons! Coupon match ups, family binders with every allergy, birth dates, and medication listed, and so much more! It’s still a work in process, but I could probably handle the president’s agenda with ease after living through four children!

4. Things are easier when I have all four with me!

Sounds crazy I know, but it’s true! When it’s just me and my two-year old, I am a mess trying to keep him in the cart and continue shopping. When I have all four children, it’s a breeze! Our 14-year-old helps with our 9-year-old autistic daughter. She keeps her from running out in front of cars, stopping to look at every thing she sees, and keeps her calm in different environments. While that’s going on, our 10-year-old does amazing with our two-year old son with autism! They have an amazing relationship! She keeps him happy and entertained no matter what the situation! With everybody having a job/buddy, I can coupon shop or go to the zoo with complete ease.

5. They will never be alone in life!

One major benefit to having multiple children is that long after we’re gone, they will have each other. Even if they disagree with one, they have two more to be friends with! Sometimes they can’t stand being so close, but other times they are best friends! The amount of joy, giggles, andlittle secrets between each of them melts my heart! So often, our 14-year-old tells our 10-year-old everything about her life and vise versa. Even theirbest friend’s at school don’t get that kind of access. Their bond is amazing and that is a true blessing!

There it is, five reasons I love having four children! That being said, this list could go on and on! The main point of this blog post is there is always a reason to love having your children! With the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life, it is easy to focus on the negative. Who was arguing with who, which lovey is missing, who didn’t do their homework, and who hides candy under their bed. I challenge you to take the time to write down 5 reasons you love you kids!
